Ravindranath Is No More A 420!

Despite strong evidences against him in the fertilizer scandal, Kadapa Mayor P Ravindranath Reddy successfully managed to wriggle out of the case.
While the Kadapa police had submitted to the court that they had withdrawn cheating case (under section 420 of the IPC) against Ravindranath Reddy, the High Court on Friday issued a stay on the implementation of First Information Report (FIR) lodged by the police on the management of Balaji Fertilisers owned by Ravindranath Reddy.
So, as the things stand now, Ravindranath Reddy is no more an accused in the fertilizer scam case. The police shifted the case to the Agriculture department and the latter has conveniently manipulated all the records to give him a clean chit. The media, particularly, Eenadu and Andhra Jyothy, which exposed the scandal with documentary evidences, has become a fool!

KCR can spend a lakh on her, but not T-martyrs

At a time when the Telangana Congress leaders, including MPs and MLAs are chalking out plans to launch their own “Odarpu Yatra” in Telangana region and offered to pay Rs 1 lakh each to the families of the youth who had committed suicide for separate statehood, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi has maintained a strange silence in this regard.
TRS president K Chandrasekhara Rao’s double standard on extending financial assistance to the bereaved families of Telangana martyrs was strongly criticized by the Osmania University students. “KCR had money to pay Rs 1 lakh to his party colleague and Medak MP Vijayashanti for tying Rakhi to his hand, but has no money to help the families of those who died for the Telangana cause. He is such a selfish guy,” the OU student leaders said.
On Rakhi day, KCR paid Rs 1 lakh each to his sisters; and when Vijayashanti also tied him Rakhi, he immediately took out a Rs 1,000 bundle from his pocket and gave to her in the presence of media. “So much for publicity, but he does not have the heart to help the distressed families of Telangana,” the OU students said.

Jagan Looks Glamorous With Spectacles

After taking rest for three days on account of his eye-infection and joint pains, Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy hit the road again with his Odarpu Yatra in Prakasam district on Sunday.
And the people observed a refreshing change in the young leader. He was looking more glamorous and attractive than he was earlier; and the reason was: he is wearing spectacles on the advice of doctors, so that the pollen from flowers would not cause allergy in his eyes. In one angle, he looked exactly like his father; though he did not wear khaddar dress. In any way, his voice has all the mannerisms of his father.
Some journalist commented that Jagan was looking like Rana in the Sekhar Kammula film “Leader,” though the little beard Rana had in the film is missing in Jagan. If he sports that little beard (no, not like Rahul Gandhi), Jagan would look more glamorous, the journo commented.

Media Makes Quick Buck On Purandeshwari

Union Minister of State for Human Resources Development Daggubati Purandeswari, who was in the news last month for spreading a negative campaign against Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, was back in the media on Friday for being awarded doctorate degree by the Padmavathi Mahila University in Tirupati. The doctorate degree was presented by the Andhra Pradesh governor E S L Narasimhan.
What is more interesting is that she made the media richer by several thousand rupees. Suddenly all the newspapers carried huge advertisements issued by various educational institutons and even her family members, eulogizing her great contribution to the nation and the state. Several corporate colleges like Narayana and Chaitanya issued big advertisements not only in the print media, but also in the electronic media, praising her. Not only that, the doctorate degree presentation ceremony was telecast by several channels, of course at a price.
One wonders whether this publicity stunt was a precursor to her attempts to get into the hot seat in the state sooner or later. And Purandareshwari had already made it clear that she was not averse to becoming the chief minister!

KCR Blamed With Obama’s Speech

If there is one man who has become the talk of the Telugus for the wrong reasons, he is KCR. With the Telangana bomb he has detonated, the result of it has been nothing but hatred and loss to Andhra Pradesh. In the name of sentiment, KCR has been exploiting the weakness of the Telangana people and achieving his political motives.
While on one hand, the investors and NRIs are already a mile away due to the weak government and the bullying T-seekers, here is another update. The speech of US President Obama who is pepping up the Americans to fight the Bangalore challenge has brought in a disdain to the Telugus.
They are furious that Hyderabad got hammered due to KCR and all investments and projects have been going to Bangalore. Otherwise, Hyderabad was in a much better league than any other city to make it to the top. Today, not only has the state of Andhra Pradesh become a political joke to other developing states but it has gone to show that how the Telugu people are bowing to the whims and fancies of one greedy political leader and spelling their doom. Shameful but true…

'YSR Family Is Expert In Mining'

“Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy has not entered into mining afresh. Right from the days of his grand father Y S Raja Reddy, his family has been in the mining business. So, it is not correct on the part of the opposition parties to question Jagan’s expertise in mining activity.”
This was stated by Jagan’s loyalist and suspended Pradesh Congress Committee secretary Ambati Rambabu. He strongly refuted the allegations leveled in Eenadu daily that Jagan had forcibly occupied the lands of farmers to set up the cement factory at Chennayapalem village in Guntur district. “In fact, it is the dream project of local farmers. They had given their lands voluntarily to Jagan’s company. While the value of the land does not exceed Rs 30,000 per acre, Jagan had paid them Rs 3 lakh per acre. They are angry with the reports published in Eenadu daily,” Ambati said.
He reminded that the Saraswati Power and Industries project was set up during the Chandrababu Naidu regime itself. “It is unfortunate that even leaders like Chiranjeevi and the Communists have fallen into the trap of Naidu and Ramoji Rao,” he said.

‘Saradaga Kasepu’ Cinema Keka Review: Ok For " Saradaga Kasepu "

Film: Saradaga Kasepu

Cast:
Allari Naresh, Srinivas Avasarala, Madhurima, Ahuthi Prasad, MS Narayana, Kondavalasa, Jayalalitha, Sana, Krishna Bhagawan, Ramya Sree, Jaya Prakash Reddy etc
Music: Chakry
Camera: Loki
Dialogue: Padala Siva Subrahmanyam
Story: Relangi Narasimha Rao
Direction: Vamsy
Released On: 17th Sep 2010

Allari Naresh, the busiest lead actor is Tollywood, has come up with another film within a gap of few weeks after ‘Subhapradam. This time he emerged in the direction of veteran movie maker Vamsy. And the second lead is Srinivas Avasarala, the actor who turned popular with ‘Asta Chemma’.
Story:               Driver Ranga Babu (Allari Naresh) is the childhood friend of Srinivas (Srinivas Avasarala) who hails from a rich family and returns from USA. Srinivas’s father Gajapathi (Jeeva) and mother (Sana) wish to get their son married to Manimala (Madhurima), the daughter of Raja Rao (Ahuthi) who lives in another city.
But Srinivas puts a condition that he wants to test the girl and hence prefers to appear in front her in driver’s costume and asks Ranga Babu to act as owner. This results in misinterpretations and misunderstandings and runs like a big comedy of errors at Manimala’s place.
Finally who marries whom? And how the situations settle down? That forms the story on a whole.
 Performances:
Allari Naresh brought innumerable laughs as usual. His trade mark pun and fun made the audience stick on to seats. His dialogues are impressive just because of his       delivery.
Srinivas Avasarala has shown a difference from that of ‘Asta Chemma’. He acted up to the role and perfectly suited to be along with Allari Naresh in screen presence and energy levels.
Madhurima looks good but the make up could have been better for her especially in songs. Costumes are ok.
Krishna Bhagawan’s comedy is routine but brings laughs to front benchers. Ahuthi Prasad has got a couple of worthy dialogues to make audience laugh. MS is also ok. Jaya Prakash Reddy has got wasted.
 Analysis:
There is no big story. There is no great effort to knit the narration with great humor. It just goes like a village bus. It’s natural wit that sparks here and there in dialogues and renditions. As the title sounds ‘it’s just a time pass movie’ and no big blasts can be expected.
This time Vamsy concentrated only on lighter moments but not on something sentimental. That’s laudable to an extent. He too didn’t leave showcasing the popular Saree brand Kalamandir in a dialogue as well as in a scene to get some support with costumes.
Allari Naresh’s dialogues pulled some good attention just because of his trade mark rendition although the lines are very normal. Here are a few to recall:

Allari Naresh: ‘nenu matladetappudu nee chevulu maatrame pani cheyyali. Kaadani inkemi pani chesinaa…ninnu naa next birthday ki pilavanu”.

(when a man shows thumb as a sign to say ‘done’ in a serious scene)
Allari Naresh: entamma..manchineelu kaavala…

Music is ok. Chakry seems to be the best bet to make a tailor made customized music that fits in the taste of Vamsy.  The canning of songs has got the mark of Vamsy.

First half goes with average narration while the second half picks up with laughs. This is a movie that can run for some time till the big movies arrive.

Bottom Line: Just ok for time pass as the title.

Is Jagan yatra an anti-party activity?

As expected, the show-cause notice issued by the Pradesh Congress Committee to Nellore district Congress Committee president Yellasiri Gopal Reddy for giving a call to the party cadres to participate in Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s Odarpu Yatra in the district, has evoked strong reactions from his camp.
Though Gopal Reddy declared that he had done nothing wrong and would give a strong reply to the PCC notice once he received it, the pungent reaction came from suspended PCC secretary Ambati Rambabu. “First of all PCC secretary has no authority to issue any such show-cause notice to the DCC president. It has to come from the PCC president or disciplinary committee. Secondly, the PCC should explain the reason why it had to issue show cause notice to Gopal Reddy, as he had not committed any harm to the party. The notice would hurt the feelings of thousands of party workers in the district,” he said.
Ambati demanded that the PCC should clarify whether it was treating Jagan’s Odarpu Yatra as an anti-party activity and how it had affected the party’s interests. “Such notices would send wrong signals to the party cadres. Thousands of party workers are taking part in the Odarpu Yatra. Will the PCC issue notices to all of them?” he asked.

Freida Pinto and Dev Patel pose at the Toronto Film Festival, where two of Freida’s films, “You Will Meet A Dark Tall Stranger” and “Miral” are premiering. Does their pose, of her looking at him in a doting fashion and him looking at the camera, remind you of a certain couple called Abhiash, eh?

Some People Wanted Me Not To Recover: Rosaiah

Chief Minister K Rosaiah seems to be suspecting that some leaders within the Congress and outside strongly desired that he should not recover from viral fever.
After a gap of nearly two weeks, Rosaiah addressed a full-fledged press conference at Secretariat on Tuesday. Though he appeared very weak and his hands were trembling while handling papers, he was smiling all through the press meet and was at his usual self with witty remarks.
When a media person enquired about his health, Rosaiah said: “I am trying to become normal.” Then he made the sarcastic remark saying there were alarming reports about his health in a section of media and some leaders were talking about his dwindling health. “The fever is no more and my health parameters are normal. I heard that some people were expressing doubts about my recovery. Perhaps, they desired that I should not recover,” he said.
The reporters wondered whom he was referring to. Perhaps, he was talking about some leaders who made a beeline to New Delhi and projected an alarming picture about his health, so that they would stand a chance in replacing him!

Central Package To Douse Telangana Stir?

If Chief Minister K Rosaiah’s statement is any indication, the Centre may settle the Telangana issue by announcing a hefty development and welfare package after the Srikrishna Committee submits its report.
Addressing the national executive meeting of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICC) representatives on Tuesday, Rosaiah said that the demand for separate Telangana state was not new. “Earlier also there was this demand. There were agitations but ultimately the government of India announced a package and kept the state united. The same thing might happen this time,” he said.
The chief minister was reacting to the apprehensions expressed by a few industrialists over disturbances to investment climate in Andhra Pradesh in the wake of renewed agitation for Telangana state. They pointed out to the statements of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao that there would be massive unrest among the people of the region after December 31, when Justice B N Srikrishna Committee submitted its report to the Centre on the contentious Telangana issue. Rosaiah said steps would be taken to ensure that the agitation for a separate Telangana state did not come in the way of development. “You need not entertain any sort of doubts. Our government was always prepared to extend all support to the industry. We stand by industry,” he said.
He pointed out that his government provided protection to IT/ITES sector in Hyderabad and Visakhaptanam when some of the firms were planning to shift their operations out of the state due to the agitation early this year.
Rosaiah said the government of India would take a decision in the larger interest of the country after receipt of the report of the Srikrishna Committee, which it constituted to study the problem and look into different angles. “The government of India after listing to various sections and after conducting a through study through Srikrishna Committee will take a decision. Everyone must respect the final decision of the government of India,” he said.

Jagan Cancels Tour In Maoist Areas

Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Friday had to cancel Odarpu yatra in several Maoist-affected villages of Nallamala forest range under Pedda Dornala mandal of Prakasam district.
Following suggestions from the local police officials, Jagan dropped his visit to adavalli, Kottur, Y Cherlopalli, Nallakuntla and Ainamukkala villages, which are said to be full of Maoist sympathizers. However, the Congress workers in the area were thoroughly disappointed with the sudden cancellation of Jagan tour, as he was to unveil the statues of Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
There were heavy crowds at the Kadapa MP’s Odarpu Yatra at Chatlametla and Enuguladinnepadu. The people squatted on the Kurnool – Guntur road blocking the traffic flow, demanding that Jagan come to their hamlets. Police had to use force disperse some people belonging to Veerabhadrapuram, Kolukula and Ellareddypalle when they threatened to torch themselves sitting on the road holding petrol in bottles. Succumbing to the pressure, he went to the villages and unveiled the statues of YSR.

DLR Wants Sonia To Probe Jagan’s Assets

Mydukur MLA D L Ravindra Reddy, the arch rival of former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s family, met Congress president Sonia Gandhi and submitted a bunch of documents pertaining to ill-gotten wealth by Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, his alleged clandestine deals and wealth amassed.
That Sonia had given more than half an hour time to DLR to listen to his complaints against Jagan was a talking point in the media circles in Delhi. Sources said DLR successfully managed to brainwash the Madam against Jagan and his family members. He is believed to have asked her to order a probe into the land allotments made by YSR during his regime and the beneficiaries of YSR and Jagan. At the same time, he asked her to take firm action against Jagan, since he had crossed Lakshmana Rekha of the party and gone far ahead in criticizing the party.
Let us watch out how the high command would react on DLR complaints.

YSR Wealth Goes Up By Rs 1 Lakh Crore In Two Days!

Till the other day, Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu was accusing his predecessor late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy of amassing wealth to the tune of Rs 1 lakh crore during his five-year rule.
In the last two days, Naidu escalated the figure to Rs 2 lakh crore. He told the media in Srikakulam on Friday that the corruption YSR had indulged in corruption to the tune of Rs 2 lakh crore. Terming it as `Panchatantra’ , Naidu said the wealth was amassed through five major projects -mining, Outer Ring Road, Emaar Properties, APIIC and Bayyaram. ``Had the corruption been checked, the government could have given scholarships and fee reimbursement to thousands of students in the State,’’ Naidu said.
One wondered how Naidu could jack up the wealth of YSR by one lakh crore rupees in a span of two days, as it was only on Wednesday he had alleged that YSR had earned Rs one lakh crore. Well, only Naidu knows the secret!
